The nomination process for the 2020 awards will open in January.
‘Volunteering Support for Young People’ This award recognises a volunteer led project or volunteer who has made a difference to young people (under 25) in the community. This could include teaching new skills, confidence building, etc.
‘Volunteering Support for the over 65’s’ This award recognises a volunteer led project or volunteer who has made a difference to the over 65’s in the community. This could be providing community transport, home support, activities, etc.
‘Personal Achievement’ This award recognises and sustained a volunteering role (this may be an individual who has overcome personal challenges, misfortune, ill health or bereavement) or recognising a volunteer who has improved self-knowledge and/or skills, gained new qualifications or developed strengths or talents which have helped them to overcome personal challenges or helped rebuild or renew their identity and/or self-esteem.
‘Business Contribution to Communities’ This award recognises a business that encourages, provides and/or supports its workers to volunteer in the community, may provide skills and expertise to support or mentor local groups, or may have sponsored much needed work or resources for local organisations.
‘Trustee of the Year’ This award recognises an exceptional and influential trustee who demonstrates outstanding dedication and commitment to an organisation.
‘New Volunteer Team of the Year’ This award recognises a team (existing for less than 2 years) who have volunteered together to achieve their goals effectively and efficiently for a new or existing group or organisation.
‘Volunteer Team of the Year’ This award recognises an established team who demonstrate strength and commitment and together successfully achieve their goals effectively and efficiently.
‘Young Volunteer of the Year’ This award recognises a young person (under 25) who has made a valuable contribution to volunteering for an organisation or the local community.
‘Volunteer of the Year’ This award recognises an individual who makes an outstanding contribution to volunteering which has significantly impacted on their life and/or their local community.
‘Lifetime Achievement’ This award recognises the achievements of an exceptional individual who has made an outstanding contribution and significant difference to their community through their commitment to volunteering for more than 10 years.
